Monique, the designer at Kantwerk (Lacework), says, “When I restarted knitting, I chose to knit lace. I got a lot of attention making lace and decided it could be a business to knit for others and design my own shawls. Soon, I graduated to finer yarns, needles and became infatuated with Shetland patterns and designs.” Kantwerk today contains original designs and vintage Shetland patterns recreated from photographs. Patterns are available in English and Dutch and are breathtaking.
