Ron Schweitzer is a talented designer of of stranded colorwork in the Shetland tradition. Starting in 1998 he designed more 80 patterns for Bethesda, MD-based Yarns International (now closed). These patterns were designed to promote Shetland 200O, their yarn partnership with Jamieson & Smith. (Shetland 2000 is now sold by Jamieson & Smith as Shetland Supreme Jumper Weight.) Ron went on to design for Schoolhouse Press using Jamieson’s of Shetland. Ron’s designs tell the story of places, from Maryland to Shetland and beyond. The Yarns International patterns did not make the transition to digital until 2022. Starting in March 2022, they are available via www.knittingtales.com, along with the Schoolhouse Press patterns.
