Amanda Kaffka of Vancouver is the force behind The Crafty Jackalope. Amanda learned to knit on arbutus twigs when she was six and hasn’t looked up since. Kitty is the creator behind the well-made project bags, stitch markers and more at Candy Skull Crafts. “I’ve faced a lot in my (many!) years,” Kitty says. “I’m now a wheelchair user due to hEDS and POTs, which are disorders of the connective tissue and autonomic nervous system. Originally a maker of handmade wood needles and crochet hooks, DyakCraft is now primarily a maker of interchangeable needles and hooks. Most are metal, created from molds based on the original woods after their primary wood source was destroyed by fire, although the handmade wood tools are making a comeback.
