Alyssa (she/her/hers) started Tidepool Knits in early 2022. “I live in Sonoma County, California, hidden in the redwoods near the coast,” Alyssa says. “I am a marine biologist and my knitting patterns are inspired by the ocean, my work, and nature. I am queer, I love science and the ocean, and you can expect these elements to show up to varying degrees in my designs. My goal is to design patterns that are fun for both beginners and advanced knitters alike, and use this art to contribute to causes near and dear to me. To that end, all of the proceeds (after transaction fees) from the Gender Unicorn of the Sea Cowl pattern are being donated to an organization supporting trans rights in Texas.” Patterns are available through clearly marked links to Ravelry and Etsy. “I love seeing others create works from my designs, so please tag me on Instagram so I can see and share any of your creations from my patterns! You can also follow me there or sign up on the “About” page of my website for testing calls,” Alyssa adds.https://tidepoolknits.weebly.com
